Junkanoo Summer Festival 2016 – Every Saturday in July.
It’s the most anticipated time of the year; summertime! Families are out and about and looking to celebrate at the most exciting Junkanoo celebration in July. The event will be promoted throughout the US, Canada & Europe.
What Can One Expect?
Junkanoo Summer Festival is a street festival designed at capturing the competitiveness and excitement of Junkanoo every Saturday during the month of July. The Major Junkanoo groups will leave the shacks and march to Arawak Cay, West Bay Street for a spectacular, fun filled rhythmic cultural competition. Groups and spectators alike will share in the fun and the spirit of Junkanoo EVERY Saturday in July from 12:00p.m. – 12midnight.
The Ministry of Tourism together with the Ministry of Culture along with Junkanoo Leaders from the A and B categories have planned a spectacular Junkanoo celebration for the people – live on Arawak Cay, West Bay St. The event is designed to celebrate our Bahamian heritage, culture and our people.

FIVE EXCITING DAYS!
Junkanoo Summer Festival will comprise of five exciting and thrilling days of non-stop Junkanoo rhythm and competitions; a street party complete with music, culture, food & fun for the entire family.
WEEK ONE (SATURDAY, JULY 2ND)
Music competition.
WEEK TWO (SATURDAY, JULY 9TH)
Time-Off: due to Independance Celebrations.
WEEK THREE – (SATURDAY, JULY 16TH)
Choregraphy/Dance competition
WEEK FOUR (SATURDAY, JULY 23RD)
Costume/Overall Performance
WEEK FIVE – (SATURDAY, JULY 30TH) - THE FINALE OF THE JUNKANOO SUMMER FESTIVAL. THERE WILL BE AN AWARDS CEREMONY FOR THE FIVE WEEKS OF COMPETITION.
