Residents of Ragged Island gather on Hog Cay for the day to celebrate with visiting yachters, and friends. The party begins with a Junkanoo rush-out, lead by the students of the Ragged Island All Age School, yachters and others. There's swimming, music, and dancing. Native Bahamian and American dishes are served, and there's an open bar and various desserts to satisfy the appetite.
The Annual Yachters Auction takes place in the evening as residents lobby for the best treasures, and keepsakes in aid of the school's annual field trip but the party doesn't end here. As night approaches a bonfire is lite, guitars begin to play, drums begin to beat, and voices begin singing favorite lullabies, as friends say their goodbyes.
