At this festival, you can experience live Bahamian music, great local cuisine, authentically Bahamian Arts and crafts, Junkanoo and lots more!
This annual musical festival, held every year during the Bahamas Labour Day weekend, is the signature event for Cat Island. It showcases the sensuous, rhythmic vibe of the island's premier Rake and Scrape music, performed by local and national artists. It also features a Gospel concert, Battle of the Rake & Scrape Bands, quadrille dancing, a children's corner with games and a fishermen and farmers' market. During the festival, guests can partake of "Down Home" Cat Island cuisine, purchase locally made crafts such as jewelry and straw items.
The Kiwanis Club hosts this annual Easter Egg Hunt, which is open to all children. Other activities include a hat-making contest and kids’ relays.
This fair is sponsored by the AUTEC Company and is held on the AUTEC Naval Base in Andros Town, three minutes drive from the Andros Town airport. Native food, craft, American ceramics and food will be on sale. In order to attend the event, one must be a vendor or apply three days in advance for a visitor's pass.
The event ends at 1:00 p.m.
