Local residents and regatta lovers from throughout The Bahamas reunite to celebrate, with racing of Class A, B, and C sloops, live entertainment, cultural activities, games, native food and drinks. This event is held every year during the Emancipation Day holiday weekend.
Class 'B' and 'C' native sloops will take to the beautiful waters of The Exumas in a weekend of racing and exciting onshore activities.
Featuring one of the oldest regattas in The Islands of The Bahamas, this festival is an exciting weekend of activities. There will be Class 'B' and 'C' native sloop racing, a talent and beauty pageant, fun run/walk, greasy pole climbing, hoopla, bouncing castle, games for all ages, Bahamian food and drink for sale, and lots more.
There will be five days of sailing featuring Bahamian native sloops – Classes A, B, and C. This tradition started in 1954 and today it is one of the oldest regattas in The Islands of The Bahamas.
This annual event features Class 'C' sprig sailing races and a church service.
