Cat Island Earth Day Festival
The 10th annual Cat Island Earth Day Festival will take place on Saturday, April 22nd at the Cultural and Heritage Site at New Bight from 1 to 5 pm. The event features performances, music, children's games, and an array of booths featuring local artists, crafts, native food, and interactive information on Cat's cultural heritage and environmental initiatives. Acklins Cascarilla Heritage Festival
The new signature event and cultural festival for Acklins. An exciting line up of entertainment and performances by Bahamian artisit Nita Ellis, the Magical band, Acklins combined choir, an exhilirating performance by Julian Believe and so much more. The event will also host fashion shows, cultural games, maypole plaiting, cooking demonstrations and a kids corner.
Guided tours are also available that include Portland Slave Plantation, Swimming with the pigs, Fishing by the day and an Eco Park Tour.
Farmer's Cay Conch Jamboree
Come see conch like you’ve never seen it before! Delicious cracked conch, scorched conch, conch salad, steamed conch, conch chowder, stewed conch and many other conch dishes will be on sale. Venue is Farmer's Cay.
Boxing Day Junkanoo Parade
The climax of the Bahamian Christmas is the Junkanoo Parade. This parade is a tradition that has been passed down through generations for many years. Music is made from cowbells, goatskin drums and a number of other instruments, while the colorful costumes are designed from cardboard and crepe paper.
Mt.Thompson Homecoming Festival
