Every winter season, the Long Island Tourist Office hosts its annual Winter Resident Reception to warmly welcome returning second home owners to the island. These events help strengthen the bond between our guests and locals as well as boosts economic activity across businesses on the island.
Lady Ingrid Darling will be your hostess for this event, which will be a different take on our usual monthly tea party. You can sample Bahamian 'bush' teas and locally-made sandwiches and pastries, while enjoying Bahamian storytelling, live music, and a fashion show by Bahamian designers.
Venue: Historic Government House / Dress Code: Smart Casual.
On this occasion, winter residents and locals come together in celebration and exchange of various cultures, to foster a stronger bond between them, and to encourage Winter Residents who live in Andros to promote Andros and The Bahamas as a number one tourist destination.
This event welcomes back all of our homeowners who return to the island every year for sunshine, leaving the snow behind. Also Hotel Guests who have been visiting the Island every year at this time. It will be held at our San Salvador Tourist Office.
In appreciation for their continual support to the community, the Ministry of Tourism welcomes our visitors, winter residents and cruising community. There is Bahamian music by local entertainers, succulent native dishes, treats and lots more. Come and bring the whole family to a delightful afternoon of tea, pastriesand Bahamian hospitality on Great Exuma.
This welcome reception is hosted by the Harbour Island Tourist Office to welcome all guests to the island and say thank you for choosing the destination.
This reception will honor our Second-home Owners, with an evening of Pot Luck dishes prepared by them and the locals. It will feature Junkanoo and cultural performances, and gift bags will be presented to the Second-home Owners. The R. N. Gomez School, together with Ripples of Hope, will offer an Art Auction, with proceeds donated to the school.
This reception is held in honor of our Second-home Owners, and will feature a variety of Pot Luck dishes prepared by them and the locals. There will be Junkanoo and cultural performances and gift bags will be presented to the Second-home Owners. R. N. Gomez School, along with Ripples of Hope, will offer an Art Auction featuring the work of students and second-home owners. Proceeds will go to the school.
Second home owners and Winter visitors gather to celebrate being out of the frigid temperatures of North America and also have an opportunity for social interaction with the locals. It includes a street festival, arts, souvenirs, food, drinks, and game vendors.
