Gateway outreach ministries and their school host their Annual Invitational Basket Tournament that consist of the local school teams, as well as other school teams from various islands and the United States, go head to head for the winning first place trophy.
This event displays locally created crafts from our Eleuthera vendors. There will be a live Bahamian band, junkanoo rush out, fashion show and delicious native food and drinks.
The Eleuthera Winter Residents Reception is The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments, & Aviation's way of demonstrating appreciation to all of our second homeowners and visitors who choose Eleuthera as their home away from home yearly.
This event also allows for first timers to experience a little bit of our local culture through food, local band performances, and Bahamian bush tea sampling.
The Palmetto Point Homecoming is held during the week of the Whit Monday holiday. This event encourages people on the island to come out and enjoy good times with family and friends. This is also a great time to plan a vacation or family reunion.

The Pineapple Festival is a yearly celebration in the Gregory Town, Eleuthera area. During this time descendants return home to visit relatives and friends that they haven't seen in a long time. This is a time when the pineapple farmers get a chance to see their great harvest on display in a variety of ways. This also demonstrates the determination of our local farmers to keep the pineapple crop growing on our island for generations to come.
The homecoming is a great way to welcome many domestic and international visitors during The Bahamas Independence week of celebrations.
There will be local performances, live entertainment by Bahamian artists, fun, food, and games for everyone.
