Bahamahost Graduation Exercise GBI
The Ministry of Tourism and Aviation's (MOTA) Training & Education Department on Grand Bahama Island recently celebrated the completion of two (2) successful Bahamahost Graduation exercises in the first week of June.
Approximately 250 participants accepted their diplomas on May 31st, at Calvary Temple Assemblies of God Church in Freeport where Senator the Hon. J. Kwasi Thompson was the keynote speaker.
The second graduation, held at the St. Michaels Anglican Church on Sweetings Cay, on June 3rd, had a total of 30 participants who heard from Mrs. Sonia Turnquest, wife of the Deputy Prime Minister and Member of Parliament for East Grand Bahama.
Both speakers heralded the theme, “Bahamahost: Training for Expansion, Growth, and Excellence” and encouraged the graduates to utilize their creativity while further establishing a culture of service excellence and professionalism.
As a major goal of the Training & Education Department is to improve customer service, delightful guest experiences, repeat business and global recognition, each graduate was equipped with the tools to enhance the visitor experience.
Karenda Swain, Training and Education, MOTA, GBI, said, "On behalf of the Training Team, we would like to extend special thanks to Director Ian Ferguson from the Industry Training Department and we look forward to future training as we work together for Grand Bahama’s revitalization."
This year, the Bahamahost Program will be revamped to ensure that every course continues to set industry standards. For more information regarding the upcoming session in September 2018, please contact Karenda Swain at kswain@bahamas.com or the main office of the Ministry of Tourism at 350-8600.
