Bahamas Set To Strengthen Global Connectivity At Ican 2024 Dpm Cooper To Lead Negotiations For Air Services Agreements With 20 Nations

NASSAU, The Bahamas (15 October 2024) – The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, Investments & Aviation (BMOTIA) will make a substantial impact at the sixteenth ICAO Air Services Negotiation (ICAN2024) event hosted by the Ministry of Transport Malaysia from 21st to 25th October 2024. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism I. Chester Cooper will lead a delegation to negotiate and sign air services agreements with 20 countries to enhance connectivity and boost tourism.

This event highlights The Bahamas’ commitment to solidifying its status as a leading travel destination and expanding its global reach. These air service agreements will facilitate increased travel, promote economic growth, and attract more international visitors.

“Air connectivity is vital for the growth of our tourism industry, which is the backbone of our economy,” said Deputy Prime Minister Cooper. “By engaging with our international partners at ICAN 2024, we will open new avenues for travel, foster business relationships, and ultimately create jobs for our people.”
