Bahamas Welcomes 40 Countries for Adventist Laypersons’ Convention
NASSAU, Bahamas– August 22, 2019 – The Inter-American Division of the Adventist Laypersons’ Services and Industries (ASI) is hosting its annual convention for the first time in The Bahamas this week, at the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island. The convention, which runs August 21 -24, has attracted over 300 registered ASI members from 40 countries including the United States, the Caribbean, South, and Central America. Convening under the theme, “Reviving the Spirit of Service,” delegates will participate in networking seminars, dynamic workshops, and spiritual enrichment sessions. During the course of the convention delegates will get an opportunity to experience the rich culture of The Bahamas
Director of Religious Tourism at the Ministry of Tourism and Aviation, Sherrymae Miller, said: “We are pleased to see the level of registration for this convention — 300 plus delegates, members of the Adventist faith from around our region, meeting here in our destination for the very first time. They’re having very productive sessions, and are enjoying our destination. I am positive when they return home to their various countries they will tell their family, friends, and associates what a great they’ve had in our country, and that it’s better in The Bahamas.”
Ian Greene, President of the ASI chapter of the South Bahamas Conference remarked, “We in the South Bahamas Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church are gratified to see our destination host this international convention for the very first time. ASI is an international association of Adventist professionals, artisans and business people who are committed to the principle of integrity in business, and whose aim is to be witnesses for Christ in the marketplace. The four-day convention which ends August 24, 2019 will allow Adventist professionals from different countries to exchange ideas on best business practices and strategies to improve the quality of service within their businesses and professions.
