Give to Make a Difference
Members of the Miss International World and Miss Latina International Organizations made an unexpected visit to Grand Bahama Island to donate 300 pairs of shoes to the Grand Bahama Children's Home.
Under the leadership of pageant Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Angelica Posillico, a total of three beauty queens travelled from the port of West Palm Beach to present the generous gift sponsored by the Shuzz Fund Inc.
Upon making the decision to host both pageants on board the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line's MV Grand Celebration, Posillico believed that it was also their responsibility to give back to the island with which they fell in love.
She said, "We were coming here for the pageant and we just felt that it was the right thing to do, so we asked the charity to come on board with us and they accepted and loved the idea and we just felt that because they do donate to children, this would be the perfect place to do a donation."
Enzie Jones, Administrative Assistant for the Grand Bahama Children's Home, said, "We are really delighted to receive this donation today. We presently have twenty-two children in the home, so this donation will certainly go a long way in assisting us in continuing to protect and maintain the well-being of our children."
The Miss International World and Miss Latina International pageants were both held on board the MV Grand Celebration between April 28th and April 30th.
