The Ministry of Tourism & Aviation Hosts Its First Ever Virtual Thanksgiving Service
NASSAU, Bahamas: During its recently held annual service of thanksgiving, under the theme, “What Are You Grateful for?” Senior Executives and Staff of the Ministry of Tourism & Aviation gathered virtually in a spirit of thanksgiving to offer thanks to Almighty God for His many blessings.
Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Travis Robinson charged his Ministry colleagues to maintain an attitude of gratitude in the face of challenging times brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic. He thanked employees for their hard work and contribution to the country’s number one industry, and encouraged them to look to the future with hope and optimism.
“As we seek to rebuild and recover the ground temporarily lost to our tourism industry by the Covid-19 pandemic, we have sound reasons for optimism about the future.”
“Over six decades, we have diligently worked to build the world- wide reputation of our tourism industry which is laid on the foundation of service excellence and warm hospitality. We have a foundation from which to rebound. ”
Reverend Samantha Cartwright from the Industry Training Department delivered a powerful sermon reminding those in attendance that, even in a year of unprecedented crisis, they need to heighten their focus on what is positive and express gratitude for every good thing, big and small.
“I encourage you today to offer a sacrifice of praise to the Lord with a voice of thanksgiving and glorify his Holy Name, for He is good and His mercy endures forever. Having a heart of gratitude for who God is and what He has done for us lifts our burdens and causes us to see everything in a different light. Each moment that we’re given is a precious gift from God. Gratitude is a matter of attitude; it is the heart of giving thanks for the favour you received.”
Staff of the Ministry of Tourism will keep in the spirit of thanksgiving by celebrating 30 days of Gratitude the entire month of November.
