MOTA Partners With Cvent To Grow Group Bookings
Nassau, Bahamas: The Ministry of Tourism and Aviation (MOTA) has hit a homerun through a partnership with Cvent – a leading meeting, events, and hospitality management technology company.
In just a year of the partnership, The Islands Of The Bahamas has seen group bookings for meetings increase by nine percent. That’s a room night generation of 678,310, which officials say “built a strong pipeline”, as meeting planner contacts grew by 32 percent. The Bahamas is also number one on Cvent’s annual list of top destinations for meetings and events in the region. Director General of Tourism Joy Jibrilu said this partnership has certainly benefited the destination.
“When we look at the number of groups coming to The Bahamas over the last year we are just blown away,” she said. “But we cannot and will not rest on our laurels. We will continue to push the message that we are the premier destination for meeting and events.” According to officials, Cvent provides destinations and hoteliers with an integrated platform, enabling clients to increase group business demand through targeted advertising and improve conversion through proprietary demand management and business intelligence solutions.
Cvent solutions optimize the entire event management value chain and have enabled clients around the world to manage hundreds of thousands of meetings and events, officials said. The company intends on expanding business with The Islands Of The Bahamas through a digital marketing campaign in 2019/2020. The campaign will feature destination featured content, an e-newsletter, blogs and a face-to-face networking conference.
Officials say the meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) is poised for significant growth over the next year.
