GOAL:
Our goal is to lay the foundation for establishing service quality excellence by imparting relevant information and knowledge.
AIMS:
(1) To create self-awareness and foster positive attitudes among those individuals engaged in the hospitality industry;
(2) To increase self-confidence by providing participants with accurate information and general knowledge on points of interest and events in New Providence, Grand Bahama, and the Family Islands;
(3) To heighten the awareness of proper attitudes in the work place and relay the importance of maintaining high standards of performance at all times;
(4) To create among participants the desire to be professional in rendering service of any kind; and
(5) To stress the importance of giving value for money to ensure that visitors would return to The Bahamas for another visit.
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the program participants will be able to:
- State accurate information about our country?s History, Geography, Civics, Culture, History of Tourism, Flora, Fauna and Frontier Formalities.
- Explain the important role that tourism plays in the Bahamian economy.
- Identify ways in which the Ministry of Tourism promotes The Bahamas.
- Explain the purpose and function of the People-to-People and Visitor Relations Units of the Ministry of Tourism.
- Identify places of special interest in New Providence, Grand Bahama and the Family Islands.
- Apply appropriate techniques in communicating effectively, delivering quality customer service and handling customer complaints.
- State Road Traffic Rules and Regulations and Basic Defensive Driving Techniques.
